Bellas Story
In 2019 our 7 year old dog Bella passed away with heartworms, at the time we had no idea what heartworms were or how to prevent them. She was my husbands best friend and protected my kids with her heart. After her death I started volunteering at a local rescue and learned as much as I could about heartworms with the determination that I would not let another pet suffer. During this time I learned that the general public isn't educated on heartworms or prevention. Most communities have no affordable options for heartworm prevention and treatment. Bellas Heart was started so we could change this. We offer financial assistance for heartworm treatment and prevention to low income families of Cherokee County. We also want to educate the community about the importance of keeping your pets heartworm prevention up to date.
It's our hope that Bella's story prevents families from losing their fur-babies the way we lost Bella.
